Extra coins glitch?

So I beat the game missing a few coins from the Run n Guns, 2 from Rugged ridge and 1 from the docks. I got all the secret map coins and had 2 left, and 1 item (twin hearts) which is 5 coins. Some simple math and i was like out for 40, there they are and i can collect that item after i clear these levels. When i cleared Rugged Ridge, I got the two I was missing but my talley at the end said I was missing 1 still. Run through it again, no coin to be found. Look at a guide to see if I possibly missed it, nothing, and no coins spawned anywhere.. so I'm confused and decide to run the docks and find that all of the coins have respawned. I only needed 2 more to get to to the last item, finish the map grab all 5 coins, and now have 3 leftover. Anyone have this happen? or did i break it and not able to get a complete achievement because one level thinks I didn't get them all? I did however get the 'High Roller' unlocked.
