The game doesn't save the progress.
So I purchased this game around 3 days ago. Everything was fine, I beat 3 bosses and had to go, so I closed the game.

Unfortunately the game wasn't saving the progress so I had to start from 0 again. Well not a pain at all, I did everything again, and the game keeps not saving.

I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled again (I did this like 4 times).
I have verified the game files through Steam.
I have cleaned all Cuphead folders (including the %AppData% one).
I forced the game to start with DirectX 9 by typing "-force-d3d9".
I have unchecked SteamCloud saves. Also I have tested with that option checked.
I have updated my drivers and even deactivated my Anti Virus.

Nothing works. Is there any solution for this? Thank you in advance :smug:

Edit: I have also tried to clean the registry. Still doesn't work.

Most people that report this issue, are using Windows 10.

So, one step to overcome this could be using compatibility mode (Win 7).
But it also might depend on HOW you close the game. It turns out, many lazy people just alt+f4 out of the game, which causes this to occur. If this is the case for you, try closing the game normally via the menu.
Also any third party cheating mod you use - yes, there are a lot of people according to the forums that use those, although it should be unlikely for someone who just got the game 3 days ago - may cause this behaviour.
I am running unmodded on Win 7, always exited the normal way and never had this issue.

On a sidenote be careful when editing you registry, or even worse when you use any program that does registry editing for yozu. Applications like CCleaner are known to cause you more trouble, especially when you just accept any suggestion they give.

At this moment I'm running the game as Administrator and changed the compatibility mode to Windows 7.
I kill the first blue slime boss, then I purchase the smoke bomb skill, I press "Start" and then "Exit to Title". Even without closing the game, the game wont save. All my slots are "Empty" after doing this. I haven't use any kind of mod or cheat.

This is actually a pain. I don't think that I can complete this game without saving, specially when I'm a pleb who hasn't seen gameplays about this game, so, everything is new for me :yawning_creep:

Edit: Everything began with a problem with SteamCloud sync.

That sounds tough.
For now, I have no clue what to tell you other than to try the Steam Beta Client and see if that helps - but honestly, I doubt that since the game itself should be saving and I doubt it's using Steam functionalties to do that.

It doesn't work. I was already using the Steam Beta Client.
What I did is to run the Legacy version of Cuphead. But this versión blocks itself after I press "start" in the main title screen. With the other one at least I can play.

I have sent an e-mail to support@studiomdhr.com to see if they can help me.

I hope that I'm not the only one with this issue :tshock:
