S rank in a run n gun stage?

I was somehow able to get an S rank in the Forest Follies stage. I wonder if anyone else has encountered this as well?

Go ingame, take a screenshot of the list with your level's S rank on it, then quit the game and a window with screenshots that you took should open. Click on the screenshot and then upload. I don't know if this is true with all users though.

Update: You should find it among the screenshots in the cuphead community.

Now the question is: S > P, P > S, P = S? If you already got P and then get S, will the flagpole change, which rank will be displayed in the list? If S > P, can you screw yourself out of the Pacifist achievement? Unfortunately, the video just ends there.

Hello coolDisguise. How I got my S rank, was that I beated the devil on expert mode and got a S rank on it. After that, the game ended like normally, and then I started a new save file and beated Forest Follies on an A+ rank level, but I got a S rank instead. No letter S will appear on the victory flag, but the checklist shows that you got a S rank on that stage (I got a screenshot of this which proves it). The S rank glitch will only affect ONE stage. Because I tried the Treetop Trouble stage, and got an A+ rank, intead of a S rank. Try and beat the devil on expert mode you too, and do the same thing as I did (on a A+ rank level on the first try), and see if you can get a S rank as well.

I mean the one that allows you to do expert mode of something on a new playthrough even.

The highest non-Pacifist grade should be A+, but like mentioned, hovering the cursor over "Expert" difficulty then attempting a Run and Gun will make the game think you're attempting the level on Expert difficulty, even though Run and Guns don't have a difficulty setting. In the game's code, P = 13, S = 12, A+ = 11, so a P-rank should overwrite the S-rank.

They DID fix the glitch where hovering over "Simple" difficulty then attempting one of the final 2 bosses would allow you to access unimplemented Simple difficulty fights.

They did not fix the glitch where hovering over "Expert" difficulty in 1 game file then switching to another game file would allow you to attempt "Expert" difficulty before unlocking it. Perhaps they kept it in for Expert speedrunners?

But they must've overlooked the Run and Gun thing.
