good job OP. good job.
Yes really.
Now, I think perhaps I'll save you my wall text, and just leave this little puppy here:

This is Commonsensemedia.org.
They'll tell you if it's something you should be playing or not.

Now, Christian talking here:
I was actually about to ask the same question.
As a christian too (whether athiest wanna admit it or not, America is predominantly Christian.) That means more than likely most families in America say they believe in God, and want safe content for their kids. The other is either the latter, or nonbelievers still looking for safe content for their kids too, and may still wrestle with the same question. In fact, a top CEO brandibg himself as athiest could risk millions in pissing off charity organizations and churchs such as Saint Jude, that donate to their businesses in hopes to maintain the Christian community. That's why if you aren't Christian and you own a company, I'd recommend not making it publicly known, unless you plan on losing half your clientele (customers and investors included); info like this is private.
And in terms of an athiest considering the Christian community "weak", because of their religion, Christianity is an ancient religion, more ancient than atheism in fact. It's before me or anybody on this forum was born. Julius Caesar isn't even older than it, with it being talked about way in BC before there was even a thought up about a BC as an era.
Wars have been waged, and were fought, and even after eons, Christianity is still here.
Christianity isn't going anywhere. It's true that we can be very meddlesome. Always will. ;)
You can even tell in how devil-worship themed movies are rated and treated--
Christians will say naww you good.
Athiest will say, hah, lmao, really?
In the end both wont see it but that small percentage.
The reason why you and me asked, is because with our religion, we're not sure if God would want us to play a game in where we play as a character that selled their soul to the devil.
In the bible, there is a passage that talks about not constructing wicked devices...
But this logic is kinda like asking God is it okay if I play Doom, if it's about killing demons. God wont say no to rebuking demons, but 'thou shall not kill' and 'vengeance is God's is in the bible.
Well, what about modding skyrim; why would God frown upon playing Cuphead, but then smile upon decapitating nords in another video game?
These are both the same thing. ;)
I actually like listening to Tool; do you know what band I'm talking about. My favorite band, but I pick and choose which songs I like more than others.
Jambi is what I don't listen to (because of it's content about the devil) but Vicarious is what I love.
I'm not stopping jamming to Tool because of my religion. I've been rocking to it dince high school, but some I don't necessarily agree with. That's all.
So, what are we gunna do?
Do you feel like playing this game? Kiss it up to God, and then buy and play. You can still be a Christian, God will forgive you and accept you, because He knows your heart. You will still rapture when it's time and God will understand.
Does it make your guts crawl too much?
Don't play.
With that said you can't say God didn't give you a million other choices before being tempted to come here as a substitute. Just keep that in mind...
Do what makes you happy.
Nobody has to sacrifice their religion for Cuphead.
My advice is if it talks about doing devil worship, like the Holy Diver song, personally I think you should stay away.
But I think you might be good playing Cuphead if you wish. Besides, it can always just sit there in your library until you wanna play it.
sorry for the late response because i just got these notifications but i have changed a lot since i posted this, i'm probably just gonna unsubscribe from this discussion for now, because i'd prefer not being reminded of my past self lol
