Remote play together lag
Hey, I've been hosting cuphead for a couple of friends and while the game runs super smoothly for me, my friends have encountered lag.
If you know this game, you know its impossible to play with lag.

Any tips on recommended settings to try to reducing the amount of lag they're getting?

I should clarify - I'm hosting one friend at a time but I tried with 2 different friends and they both had lag.

Do both of you live together or near each other?

Try putting the game on windowed screen. it should reduce lag.

If they live together you should try limit your bandwith so it doesnt exceed the maximum. Had the same issue now its fine if you are ok with the graphics/resolution around 5 mbit/s for 2 players on a 16 mbit/s bandwith

My friend tried limiting bandwidth, launched in windowed, still I'm experiencing permafreeze after 2 seconds and stuttering audio.

In my Remote Play Together tests, my friends and I had lower latency (input lag) when selecting "Fast" in Client Options, and let the resolution at 480p in Advanced Client Options. Those Options appears in Steam settings, Remote Play tab. And of course, you need to have a good PC for use Remote Play as a Host and a fast internet connection (download and upload). And the more close your friend is to you, less input lag he/she will feel.

sorry it took me so long to answer but I appreciate all the posts. I live in Arizona and my friends (both I've tried playing with) live in California.
I have not tried setting the game to windowed, but I think I did set it to fast in options. My computer specs are pretty OP but I think my internet speed is... average? Upload could probably be better. According to fast.com I'm at download 180 mbps / upload ~8-12 mbps. I use a wired connection.
I also played with a friend in Canada and he complained of some input lag but otherwise it seems it ran pretty smoothly for him.
