Dark Souls multiphase bosses suck. Same here - very lazy designed.
Its not difficult its just annoying. you get to a new phase you memorize attack pattern. so you do them over and over.

Good difficulty means being able to beat a boss on the first try.

its lazy design.

Dr khal's robot is the only one that really bothered me, although I can only imagine what king dice would be like if he had more than one phase

All bosses can be beaten on first try if you have good enough reflexes and skills. Only two attacks have poor indications (Brutus' laser beam and devil's phase shift from phase 1 to 2 with the skeleton). Assuming you dodge all else you wont die from those two hits though, but I can agree they're poorly designed attacks for the first time you get there (devil's skeleton hurting you is at least just at end of phase 1, but brutus beam being last phase and not showing what it's gonna do sucks).

The attacks of most bosses are also used randomly, they're not 100% pre-determined, so pure memorisation won't help.

Yeah, sure, have only one phase where the boss does same thing over and over again. Because that's not lazy at all right?

Bosses can be beaten on first try if you're good. You're obviously not, so you decided to bash the game on this forum.

who said he does have to do the same thing? with multiphase he does the same thing over and over - just when he switches over to a new phase, the phase is ALWAYS the same.

very early bosses MAYBE (like 5 percent of players) on the first try. Later in the game? B. ullshit on that.

Dark Souls did not invent multiphase bosses. Why do tons of people always give Dark Souls undeserved false credit for inventing things that it did not actually invent, and even when those things predate Dark Souls' release by many decades.

This is because they are children, and children tend to believe the first experience of one type is the first experience ever of that type. Please remember that most people who play video games and talk about them are not adults, but children far under the age of 18.
