Question on yellow flags

What do they mean exactly?
I have A bosses done in normal mode with yellow flag and B bosses done in hard with yellow flag as well, so I don't get it.

If you get a high score the flag is yellow instead of red. And if it has an S on it that obviously means you've S'ed it.

But I have yelow flags on bosses with low score

Hmm. Then it could just be anything that isnt completed on simple or anything higher than C.

Cause mine is the same way so it could be that.

I have the bird boss done in regular with B+ and red flag

Welp. I'm confused now. It could be a certain aspect of the level you complete. Like time, health, super or skill.

It just means you completed the Expert difficulty for a boss.

Ok, for what I've seen:
Normal B+ or lower: Red mast and gray cup
Normal A- or higer: Golden mast but gray cup
Hard any rank: Golden mast and golden cup

So you can't see on flags the rank if you beated the boss in hard mode.
