Should we Riot?
Yes, we must riot for action to be taken to fix this issue. Hope its fixed in the Delicious Last Course!
What's funny is no other game I have in my Steam library has this issue. In fact, with a 2 player game like Sonic All Stars Racing, I can play two-player with one DS4 Bluetooth dongle controller, and another DS4 just connected with bluetooth, and it works fine. But for some reason Cuphead won't work past the "Press Any Button Screen".
EDIT: Oh, I just realized I do have another game with this same controller issue, F1 2015. There's unlikely to be a fix for that one, but I work around the issue by getting into the game and starting a race using a keyboard, and only when in the race pushing the PS button. I tried something similar for Cuphead but it didn't work.
Here's what I did to fix the connection issues.
1. At the Windows 10 start menue, type 'Set up USB game controller' and open the program.
2. The Dualshock 4 shows up. Then go to Properties>Settings> Reset to default
And voila, this issue has finally been fixed and I can now experience the closest thing to playing Cuphead on the PS4!
I am now able to use 2 PS4 controllers wirelessly to play this game: One using the DS4 wireless dongle, and the other using straight up Bluetooth 4.
This may also help for other game pads such as Nintendo Switch controllers, etc.
Good luck!
PS. if this worked for someone else, just quote this comment and confirm that the solution worked for you, and I'll mark your comment as the solution.
YOU SIR! YOU ARE MY HERO! After months of trying everyday, you finally found the solution. I can't thank you enough! Now, if you excuse me, I have to play some Cuphead!
