How to break free of Cala Maria's gaze?

I just died on Cala Maria because i was not able to break free fast enough, how do you break free faster? is there a way?

You have to shake it so yeah just press movement buttons several times

I already tried this several times before and if i cannot figure out how to break free, i'll never beat the game.

Well try a controller then, never had the issue. As a matter of fact I think her quite easy compared to the robot and the Al Qaeda genie

What controllers are avalible to use? i have a USB PS3 controller if that'd work.

During phase 2 it can be avoided by positioning your self above her head.

However if you position yourself as far to the left as possible you should be able to break free in time and dodge the next volley of attacks.

spamm all the buttons you can, up down left right ,exshoot ,minimize/dash, mostly if you spamm your movement buttons a lot of times quickly youll break free.

I've already tried this, no-one gets it. Her and Matchstick are the only bosses i have left.
