Remote Play won't work

My friend and I try to use Remote Play for Cuphead, but it did not work. I have the came and I invited her to the game, but it would not let her play mugman. We would play over each other. I even tried playing with the controller and her the keyboard, but it still didn't work. We can both see the game, but it won't let her join and play a different character. We even try the settings, but it didn't work. If someone know how to fix this, please respond or send me a message. Thank you

You both need to play with a controller, start the game as you would normally and once you are in the game the second player can click 'A' on the controller as said in the bottom right corner. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much! My friend hosted the game with a keyboard and it let me join and play. I already told her that she needs to get a controller, so I think it will work. We do know that if one of your friends don't have one then they should probably be the one to host the game. Again thank you so much!

I don't know if you like horror games. I bought Obscure 1 and 2 to play with a friend, it's a old PS2 game but it's good, I'm player one with keyboard and him with a controller.

I had that problem yesterday. Go to the options menu and sign out with the controller. Have your friend with the keyboard start the game. Once in the overworld you (with the controller) press any button and it should sign you in as mugman. At least it worked for us last night.

It can work, but your friend will need to be the host.

We made it work, me as host had controller and friend played on keyboard.
I joined with keyboard as p1, and used my controller to join as p2, disabled controller input for my friend in settings.

In the end i was blue as p2, and he was red as p1 playing keyboard.

Question, what controllers does this work with, I have an Xbox 360 controller but that's about it.
I'd assume Xbox One controllers because it was released on that but I'm just curious

I tried and it worked perfectly.

BUT when my friend left, I got the message "Player 2 has disconnected. Re-connect the controller and press any button" but I obviously don't have a P2 anymore...

I think any controller would work.

It's dumb, but I think so. It didn't work for me and my friend until we both had controllers. It works best if you do, but you can have the host do the keyboard and client do the controller.
