How can I escape Cala Maria stone statue attack?

Mashing any button or specific one? It takes me around 3 second to break free and I see on youtube they do it in 1 second. I play on Xbox pad.

Spam the fire button too, not just the dpad/analog stick.
Also you can dodge the gaze by using smoke-dash at the right time and the final phase if you stand right next to her face she'll never hit you with it (fixed for current patch in phase 2 though).

Just use smoke bomb and I frame through it.

OMG I didn't know I can use analog to break through faster, I used only attack/jump button and it was like 3 seconds instead of 1. Thanks man, I beat her on expert in my third try with your advice.

Again.... just use smoke bomb. it's much easier to just... never get turned to stone in the first place.

btw Pomikuza, I see you played some games of YS series. I want to try it but I heard it's very difficult. Could you recommand me easiest part?
