Download a program called parsec and make an account. It runs off of 1 computer so that the other person has access to your pc. There is not any noticeable delay aswell. The other person can easily join in with a controller or keyboard.

but can two people use keyboards at the same time? I hear the one hosting needs to do some weird stuff with controller inputs (while i lack controllers to input with)

Be careful with that kind of stuff.

As long as the person you're playing with is someone you actually trust then it should be fine

It wont work, if you try, you will both be cuphead. You NEED a controller, it's like you two are next to each-other locally.

Obviously, this 3rd-party-program (and there's the first alarm bell ringing) is meant to give another person unrestricted access to your computer (2nd alarm bell ringing).

So if you still intent to do this (not recommended), you need to understand 2 very simple things:
the way it works is like Windows Remote Desktop or VNC - you have a client and a server application. The client logs into an existing session on a computer that is the server. You can then use the mouse or keyboard for input ON THE SERVER COMPUTER.
Naturally, the SERVER computer doesn't know anything about any gamepads plugged into the CLIENT.
So, in order to have 2 people play on the SERVER together you can
- have the person on the SERVER use a gamepad and configure Player 2 to use the keyboard
- configure both Player 1 and Player 2 on DIFFERENT keys on the keyboard
(additionally Player 2 can then on the CLIENT setup a gamepad-to-keyboard mapping in order to use a gamepad)

If you're both playing using the same set of keys on the keyboard, of course it will only control Player 1.

Thank you for explaining this so I dont have to. Makes this job a lot easier.
