How the hell do I beat the candy corn

I don't recognize a pattern. I thought it came back for all the little candy corns it leaves out but that doesn't seem to be the case.

the smoke bomb dash makes it easy to dodge him, you can just dodge through him

the candycorn moves from right to left, then back, while moving up and down on what seems to be an RNG timer, although it's noted that he likes to move in counterclockwise circles.

Typically, the candy corn will follow a figure 8 pattern and sometimes just do a full circle. Try to always be behind it when possible and when forced to jump in the center get back out fast in case he does a figure 8.
