Further more, where bullet hell games, or even dark souls for that matter have almost no RNG, this game has waay too much.
use the health trinkets if you need more HP
EX moves leave you at a frame disadvantage, wait for an opening to use them
Also this is odd, but the difficulty of bosses isnt ordered in ANY way, some bosses are easier than the first boss, some bosses are as hard as the final
The bird is easy as ♥♥♥♥, but djinn is hard as hell
Super, one is literally invincibility. Don't know about the other two, don't look so hot. The plane one does make you invulnerable for a while after hitting with it, so that is a L2P issue again.
Yes, it is agony. Working as intended. Keep practicing. This isn't for the feint of heart.
Yeah, I know what they are, I meant I don't know if they're super effective or not, haven't really used them to good effect yet.
I'm not sure why you're comparing this to "coin-guzzlers." The levels are either straight up boss levels or they are very short platformer levels. You don't need checkpoints in this game, becuase the levels aren't long. The world map is basically one big checkpoint.
This game is hard, but it hasn't felt unfair to me. I find it interesting that the Dark Souls comparison is brought up, because Dark Souls intentionally puts in tons of "gotcha" moments. While it can be hard to initially learn a boss pattern in Cuphead, I've never felt an "aha! this enemy was hiding and came out of nowhere to kill you!" like in Dark Souls. Even with new bosses and enemies I haven't seen before, the enemies have tells that give me clues about how to approach them. There are no traps, unlike Dark Souls.
I think the only mechanics issue I have with this game is that the dash invincibility charm seems a bit too good to pass on. It changes the game dramatically.
