Use this modified DLL file to unlock the black and white filter.

Replace the file in this location:
%Your steam game folder location%\steamapps\common\Cuphead\Cuphead_Data\Managed

If you can't find your steam game folder location , just open up Steam , right click on Cuphead , click "Properties" , after that "Local Files" and select "Browse Local Files..."

Start your game , load your save game first(IMPORTANT) , then open up Options=>Visual and there should be an option called "Filters".

Select between: "Black and White" , "2-Strip" and "None".

ENJOY YOUR GAME ! :D

There's an option ingame to enable the Black and White filter, but you need to do the Pacifist achievement first.

Yeah, the new update broke all of the mods that were created before the update.

There's a way to unlock these filters by just editing the text in the save file. (Which means you don't have to download anything.)

1. Go to your save file location.
C:\Users\(YOUR USERNAME HERE)\AppData\Roaming\Cuphead

You should see these 3 files.
cuphead_player_data_v1_slot_0.sav (File 1)
cuphead_player_data_v1_slot_1.sav (File 2)
cuphead_player_data_v1_slot_2.sav (File 3)

2. Make a back up of your save files. This is in case you edit the save file incorrectly which causes the game to reset everything back to "New."

3. Open up your save file with a text editor like Notepad.

4. Change the following 2 lines from false to true. (Use Ctrl + F if you're having trouble finding it.)
"unlockedBlackAndWhite":false
"unlocked2Strip":false

5. Now when you play the game, you can change your filter in the game's pause menu, Options -> Visual.

If you would rather keep these filters LOCKED, so you can attempt to unlock them yourself via normal gameplay, you can also just edit the save file to change the current filter being used.

Edit this line instead.

"filter":0

Change the number to 1 for 2-strip.
"filter":1

Or change the number to 2 for black and white.
"filter":2

The change will occur when the save file is loaded, it doesn't show up on the title screen.

Ikr so did I. Perilous Piers was also tough cuz I’d lose hp at the beginning while trying to parry and build my super

I could do perilous piers perfectly UNTIL the octopus part, i struggled for real there trying not to get hit by the shrimps or trying not to fall into the sea. but the feeling after beating the level is priceless.
