Controller Issue SOLVED! (x360ce)
I found it! I found it! Hahahahaha...'xcuse me.

So, if you want to get Cuphead running with x360ce, all you need to do is open Cuphead, go into Options > Controls, press Remove Controller, then manually open up x360ce (windowed mode is recommended). Make sure it is running completely fine. Then, go back to Cuphead and press Assign Controller, click inside the x360ce window and quickly press a button on your controller. Voilà!

To check if it worked, just look at the button mapping of the controller: If it says D-Pad Up, Left Stick Up, A, X and the likes, congratulations! Enjoy the game without any further restrictions.
If it says Axis 0, Button 10, or is completely blank, then I don't know either.

But I hope it works for everyone with x360ce, it just took me 6 hours to figure out to enjoy the game with my GameCube controller and I know it's a huge pain in the butt.

Just make sure to go into settings and check "Hide DS4 Controller" and you can leave xinput on.

Did you try going to steam settings -> controller -> General control settings and check the generic gamepad configuration support? Also make sure to configure your controls in there. For some reason that was the best solution for me and now player 2 doesnt spawn anymore as well!

I also use a generic cintroller.

I have a new problem!

I can already play Cuphead and my Steam games with my Generic Control, but apparently it was generally deconfigured in my pc, in other games that have the buttons are wrong and are repeated (Example: press button "A" and at the same time press "START" with the same button) and I do not know how to reconfigure it!

PLEASE HELP!

You configure the controls at the same place as the checkbox. just click on the controller under "detected controllers" and for me there should be a define layout option.

X360CE co-developer here

What you are writing makes no sense.
The setup app has absolutely nothing to do with the function of the DLL apart from configuring the INI.

Actually, the important thing is to get out of the cuphead window and press a button, no matter what is the active window after you minimize cuphead.
It is just coincidence that people who have done that got in x360ce window, cuz it was the last program left open, and thought it was the solution...

nevermind nobody told me the x360ce and the cuphead game had to be in same folder or the cuphead game should be minimized while pressing buttons on x360ce
