This fight was likely scrapped early on, there doesn't seem to be a hitbox anywhere (even when using the homing weapon), for the boss, and dying from the spikes has a chance to softlock the game.
The fight has a set of 3 icons that goes over the player's head, and fall above the spot the player is at, onto the platform with the spikes, lowering it each time a block lands on another block. Blocks disappear if you can match 3 of the same icons together (in a straight line or diagonally), or clears all the blocks when the block stack reaches the max height possible.
The player can jump onto the blocks, but red ones will damage the player
On easy and hard, no blocks spawn.

While the boss design and most of the stage design is complete, the pachinko balls, platforms, and the boss' attack are not.
The boss will fire a beam into the air at random intervals, it is safe to move through them while they are purple, and become a hazard when they turn into the fire.
The pachinko balls fall at a random interval and location, bouncing off the pins and landing on platforms, which tilt slightly. Hitting a pachinko ball will hurt the player, though you can parry the black ones.
On easy, the boss doesn't move and no pachinko balls seem to fall. The boss will take a few hits in order to be defeated. Aside from apparently more health and possibly a faster movement speed, the fight doesn't change between normal and hard.
This fight is the only one that has a message for players when they get defeated.

This fight seems cut early on, as all the graphics seem to be placeholders.
On normal, the player will always take a hit from the floating head, before the fight starts, and they must traverse through the three level tiers, to avoid the rotating beams (one clockwise the other counter clockwise). While the beam is blue or yellow, the player can safely travel through them, though the yellow indicates it is about to turn red, which hurts the player.
On easy and hard, there isn't any platforms, and the beams don't rotate, though they quickly flash between yellow and red.

Shoots a green projectile that arcs upward from the player, upon landing it will randomly grow, and hurts enemies that touch it.
The super lobs the projectile towards the floor, and explodes after a few seconds.

Shoots a red ball at an average speed, in a straight line, exploding when it comes in contact with enemies.
The super launches a significantly faster projectile in a straight line, presumably makes a big explosion with a high amount of damage.

Similar to the scatter, it shoots 3 lasers in a spread formation though it can go much father than the scatter.
There doesn't seem to be a super for this weapon.

For the life of me, I couldn't seem to get this to work correctly when selecting a level, though in this thread, the user was able to get it working, and included a video (especially with the other weapons and the charm)

This weapon doesn't work, equipping it will prevent the player from shooting, and if you switch to this weapon, you are unable to switch weapons again.


Charm:
pit_saver
This charm negates fall damage, and increases invincibility frames for the player


Notes:
The 1_1F to 3_2F are the 6 run and gun levels
mausoleum seems to load the first version
You don't need to select difficulty or gear, clicking on a level will use the difficulty you picked and whatever gear you had.

It interest me on why they'd cut anything from this game, as it waste a lot of the assests that the artist had to hand draw, thus also wasting the effort and time of the artist. I also find it funny that stuff they didn't have assests for are made either in MS Paint or by a child.

It was made by like couple of dudes, that's also why it took them something like 4-5 years to complete it. I guess if they would also want to include that in the game, it would take another year or 2 of delay.

Well, there's still hope for some DLC. I would love to have another world or 2.
I imagine they got scrapped because there really wasn't much there, the airship slime was just a matter of the player being able to parry one part of it repeatedly, pachinko requires sitting att the bottom, dodging and attacking it, light was moving in a circle attacking an enemy in the middle.
I imagine Card got scrapped, because they really didn't know what to do with it, how do you make a fight in a platformer, where a player has to line up blocks, without getting crushed, fun ?


I also traveled outside of the boundaries, but there was nothing to see. You can still interact with the dice house from the other side, but you can't interact with the levels from the previous or next world.
They all basically stop, past where you can see normally, if only to finish a part of an island, or other scenery piece, past it, its just water or another form of nothingness.

As far as I can tell, any demo/beta version of a boss that exists in the main game, was overwritten by the current version of it
You gotta submit this to TCRF. I love peering inside the guts of games.
For some reason Inkwell isle 1 is the only level with proper ambience. you can hear birds chirping around the forest with the river streaming down, Hilda Berg and the Slime snoring, the Root Pack garden being tilled, a bee buzzing around the flower boss, and flies hootin' and hollerin' on the steamboat. Every other level just has the record player hum in the background if you turn off the music. I wonder if there were abient effects planned for the other three levels before the game released? This could just be a bug, though.

For anyone that actually wants to try this, here is how I did it
[MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF YOUR SAVE FILE]

I navigated to the player's save file
C:\Users\ (USERNAME) \AppData\Roaming\Cuphead

and manually edited the data for currentMap [ctrl + f to help find it]
changing the number following it, to 7 will load the debug level select screen

There are a few things that cannot be accessed from the level select, and using the data from the following link, you can force specific levels
[trying to exit to map after doing this will just reload the stage, you need to either quit to title (sometimes gets softlocked) or exit the game]

Don't put any number past 65, as it will softlock your game

To undo this, just replace your save with the backup copy you made

Any boss that was shown in early footage, that later got redesigned, were saved over the old version of the same fight
There are 0 duplicate level designs, you can't play the older version of a fight because there isn't one in the game's files, left.
When they changed the devil bat fight, they saved the new version over it

But which boss did replace the bat? Which boss did replace Pachinko? Which boss did replace the Jelly Boss?
THAT'S what I want to know. :)

And maybe they can re-use the old designs for a DLC-pack, or something. :)
