How far can you progress on simple?

Can you go into the casino but not face the devil?
Can you face the devil but only get bad ending?

without there contracts you can't go anywhere youd be stuck in world one forever

You can complete all the bosses except the hell bosses (king dice and the devil) on simple.
The hell bosses minimum difficulty is normal.
If you want to unlock expert difficulty you have to kill all the bosses on normal though.

No he's right, kind of.
If you only did the simple versions of the bosses on World One, then you'd be stuck and won't be able to progress to World Two until you've done the bosses again on Regular as you need the Soul Contracts to move on. (Which you can only get from a Regular-mode boss.)
