The git gud idiots ruined a beautful thing.
This level of difficult is not fun.

I probably could beat it eventually. I don't care anymore. After retrying the same level fifty times, I don't even want to. It's just a miserable experience.

I played Super Meat Boy, and Binding of Isaac, and other 'hard' games. There's good difficulty and there's jerkass difficult. This is the latter. When the various combination of things on the screen forces me over the far right and then I get hit by something immediately as it spawns in, that's just the game cheating.

The lack of any kind of health pickups or any way to recover a run means you end up playing the first part of the level eleventy billion times as even a single hit will doom you later on, so any mistake at all means a trip to the start menu for a restart.

And before all of the 'I checked your steam profile page and you don't have it' people chime in, I've been playing as Player 2 on another person's copy.

this level of difficulty was fun for me

the only part that was outright stupid and unfun was the dice man, and that part is just annoying and tedious, not unfair

See i enjoyed this game to a point, got to that multihead dragon after about 4-5 hours of playing the game wasnt to hard tbh, then that one boss just got in my head, and i've been stuck on it for at least 100 deaths maybe more. To the point its not fun anymore. When i think "lets play some cuphead" i think of that boss and all the will to play just leavs me and now i've uninstalled it as the fun was gone. I love hard games. I dont mind dying alot of times to a boss, dark souls , nioh-way of the nioh. for example i've been on bosses for like 5-6 hours non stop trying but somthing kept me playing and i still had fun.
Cuphead just feels like so much rng at times , and the simple nature of the game limits for me anyway the amount of fun you can have. This is probably the first game i've ever give up on in all my gaming life ,and i've played some brutal games like the orginal ninja gaiden games ect.

Still a very good game, and i dont regret giving my money to the devs, fantastic art style and music, cool looking bosses ect. But the amout of times you have to repeat very tiny lengths of gameplay over and over has gotten to me for the first time.

I finally got him just now. He barely has a mechanic. so I can see why they dragged the whole thing out. BUT more than the fight, it's landing on "start over" that almost broke me.

I screamed the first time I landed on start over since I thought everything resert, but fortunately you can just roll back to FIN since all the spaces you cleared stay cleared.

I went with 3, 5 and 7 to land on, these are extremely easy with smoke dash.

This game is a joke compared to old shoot 'em ups.

Didn't have to try any level 50 times... So yes, you are simply not good enough. This game is incredibly fun and if it was any easier, it would be less fun.

The game is simply not for you. Don't try to ruin it for the ones who love it the way it is. I wouldn't change a single thing on this game. It's perfect!

Go play some random shooter with health regeneration behind cover and quicksaves.

Not every game has to be for every person. I think it's fine.

It's really not fair. First of all, the physics are iffy. It feels like parry just doesn't work some 20% of the time, I've failed to make jumps I clearly landed.

But also just plain unavoidable attack patterns are common. I think I died like five times in the pirate's final stage when the beam started, I had to duck, and then the barrel dropped on my exact position. I guess someone could theoretically have figured out the barrel's pattern and not ducked in that specific spot, but that's a lot of forward prediction required for a game like this, it's anyone's guess if you could even get to a better position with the fireballs, and I'm not sure the barrel isn't semi-random anyway.

Also, the sheer amount of visual noise on the screen with two players can obscure things too effectively.
the barrel pattern is left, and then right. and it drops on your position at every pass. just rush the barrel, have it drop, step past, and then duck. its hard sure, but not unavoidable by any stretch. youre looking for things that require 'twitch' skill, as in every action has a response. sometimes in cuphead, you simply set yourself up for situations where there is no right option, because you chose a wrong option 4 choices ago. that level of foresight might not appeal to you, but it really does to others, and its why this game gets UNREAL praise from anyone looking for a legitimate challenge. the game isnt cheating, youre mis timing your parries, and the physics are one of the games strongest aspects. i have never been one of the git gud crowd, but this game is really really good, and if its too hard for you, then dont buy it, nothing wrong with that.

Dark souls isnt that hard, its just one of the harderst of the current generation of easier games.

dark souls is very different since it has rpg elements too. Cuphead there's no way to farm if you can't beat a boss since coins are very limited and only give you a few weapons/charms.

Physics are fine, I usually trigger barrel in right before the beam so it doesn't go off while I crouch, things are avoidable.

Your name reminds me of how much I love to go 'fax fax fax fax fax fax' on ssb melee ^^

That is all.

I beat isle 1 and 2 with less than 100 deaths. The game really isn't all that hard. You're just impatient and whiny
Sammy Oct 8, 2017 @ 5:33pm
The parry is dictated by the animation. You have to see the hand slap coming out from Cuphead for it to parry. It's a visual tell that you're doing the parry. It threw me off at first in regards to the timing but use it as a basis and you'll get better at it.
The ghost mission helped me realise it.

But this games just the type of game where you die, learn and adapt. You learn boss strats and play to them in fights. It's similar to how Dark Souls handles its boss fights, you watch and learn and adapt.
What exactly are you stuck on?
