Which is better, the Charge or Spread shot?
The descriptions would suggest that the spread is the best shot in the game if you're at the right range but I find the Charge shot just as good if not better, when I use the Spread shot I don't really notice a difference in how long it takes to kill a boss

Charge shot together WITH spread shot is best. Charge for bosses and spread for any small fry that the boss might spawn. It's been my go-to weapon loadout for the vast majority of bosses.

Charge by far. I stopped using spread about halfway through the game because it simply wasn't very good.

Charge, by a huge margin. It will be your best friend for most of the fights in the game.
It allows you to keep a safe distance, but pepper the bosses with damage that is greater than most of the weapons. The only downside is you lose charge after you dash or parry. Luckily, once you learn most of the enemy attacks, resorting to dashes isn't needed quite as much.

Charge is the best by far for most bosses, a few are better with spread/pea shooter in my opinion.

I love the roundabout because it has good range and is so easy to use. When you have a spam of them flying around it takes care of most small fry anyway. The damage is pretty good too. But if you're talking pure dps, then the best damage is probably equipping lobber and roundabout then spamming the switch weapon button which causes both guns to fire fast.

Both together is devastating.

Charge shot is best for damaging bosses by far, but spread is good as crowd control to remove small fries (like beppi's doggies, flower's little green plants with mouths, Carrot's flying carrots, candy lady's shotgun shots, train ghost's eyes, etc).

Charge shot is very broken, since it gives both long range and the best dps. They're even thinking of nerfing it based on their last update post on their website.

If it is nerfed in the damage at least make us able to hold the charge while dashing and parrying.

A lot of people love the charge shot, but I realized I grew really dependent on smoke bomb dodging and it is so annoying losing your charge while dashing. That alone makes me not like using it.

I think every weapon has its uses. Charge shot does the most damage, but in certain fights with multiple weak enemies spread is good. Spread just doesnt do that great damage so single target DPS the charge is best.
