Which boss do you think is the hardest in the game?

Hey guys! I'm gonna say spoilers for this thread if you don't want to be spoiled on boss designs, best get out. Which boss in the game do you think is the hardest, and which do you think is the easiest? (Besides Root Pack) I'm going through the game to get the Expert achievement right now, it's the only one I have left, and I'm leaning towards thinking that either the Kala Maria (Mermaid) or the the Grim Matchstick is the hardest, and I think the candy boss is the easiest (only boss I beat first try besides Root Pack). What do you all think?

Hardest boss for me was definitely Grim Matchsticks, and he alone probably accounted for a third of the deaths in my playthrough.

As for easiest, I'll make it interesting and exclude the ones in the first area, to which I would say that Wally Warbles is the easiest. I feel like Wally Warbles could have been used as the first shmup-section boss instead of Hilda Berg, because all of its patterns are really simple apart from the last one.

Haha, yeah the first time I fought Matchstick was a disaster. He's the only boss I had to switch up my loadout to beat, I'm not sure whether I spent more time on him or the mermaid. They are both BS to get A- or above on though for the achievement, it took me quite a few tries even though I could A- the other bosses in just a couple attempts.

King Dice isn't hard but he is an amazing boss design, I'm surprised there's not an achievement for killing him and all of his minions in one shot, but there is one for finishing the boss without taking damage.

For grim I used charge shot and homing, homing mostly so I could stay on the upper clouds for the second phase and still deal damage.

I also kinda gave up and ended up using the health increase because I could not stop getting shat on during the last phase.

Excluding the first world bosses, I thought Grim Matchstick was definitely the easiest for me. The Queen Bee in the third world took me the longest to beat, so I guess she was the hardest.

I've played the game long enough to say that none of them are really hard anymore, but the first time I ran through, Dr. Kahl was the most tedious and perhaps caused 30% of my deaths and 2 hours of my life. That was on regular mode. I'm glad I got good enough and managed to 200% the game.

Now, Hardest I wouid have to say Hilda Berg on Expert. She has a lot of forms to go through and little room for error, her minions don't make life easier too and her Sagitarius form is a pain on top of that. My favorite boss and character, but otherwise a pain.

The Easiest I would say is Baroness. Thanks to rapid switch firing, I can take out most of her minions in about 4 seconds. Her chase isn't really hard either.

Beating Hilda Berg on expert was a pain I was always hit with bad RNG before I ever reached her final phase. In here gemini form the bullet spray would more often than not spawn right on top of me taking one of my lives and the sagitarius form I was always facing against the green blimps that seemed to spawn no end in sight during this phase. In her phase before the moon I counted out up to 13 green blimps spawned back to back(coming in groups of 3-4) while she was out back throwing tornados which was virtually impossible to dodge without using a super or some kind of mad agile and percise dodging skills. She killed me more than any boss in Expert mode which was about 40+ something times.

Beppi for me in expert mode wasn't too difficult it took me about 7 attempts to S-rank him. Hilda is the only boss I'll probably refuse to S rank due to the stress she had caused me before even reaching her final phase.
