I love LGR and his RF-HDMI converter is ridiculous. One of the biggest takeaways from this video to me is that aside from the game's "parry pink objects!" motif becoming much more difficult in black-and-white, the color in this game is incredibly well defined and pretty much every character design and background holds up without color, and it's pretty easy to tell what's what aside from the parry objects. That's a lot of dedication on MDHR's part to ensure that the game still mostly reads well in black and white.

As for the aspect ratio, I was expecting the game to be in 1.33:1 like vintage films and animation, and was surprised that it supported 16:9. It's clear from the video that Clint didn't want to use the letterboxing that happens when you play the game at a lower resolution and instead wanted it full screen, but that ended up cutting off all dialogue text on the overworld map as well as the health meter. If anything, I guess that's more modern design sensibilities leaking into the game rather than trying to push them back with vintage animation design sensibilities, which I can forgive. Now someone needs to hook this game up to a projector and see what it looks like on a film screen, seeing as that's what they're shooting for with the presentation.
