Be mindful of the timing of the parry, if you parry too soon and miss the window, you have to land before you can parry again.
A preemptive parry will almost always result in getting hit.

For the gates, watch their pink faces go up and down. Time a parry at the peak when the face is at its highest position, then at the peak of your parry's jump height, do a dash over the gate. Works every time for me.

Take the axe parry. It'll let you get over the gates without messing with their faces, as well as let you bounce on the flames later during the chase.

I did this level with the +2 health charm after I learned you can parry the gates face rather than just it's pink projectiles. The top of the gate doesn't damage you so you don't even have to do a jump > parry > dash, you just have to parry. Hope this helps <3
