what about usb snes controller?
ehh? EHHHH???
It turns out I own two of them, and since Cuphead only uses 6 buttons on your standard logitech controller, I thought it might use them, since Windows has drivers for this kind of controller.
Edit: this kind of controller has a usb jack on the end of a third-party snes controller with its motherboard having a Linux-and-Windows-driver-compatible chip inside.
Edit 2: Just tried it; devs need to add support I guess :P

x360ce may be able to get that controller working for you in this game.

This. Lots of non Xbox controllers don't work with lots of games. x360ce has saved my ass multiple times over multiple games, allowing me to play with a controller that's not (or only partially) supported.

Sweet! I'll install it and let you know if it works!

Installed, but same as before; you can press to start but nothing else. x360ce successfully made the dll, but I don't know where to put the dll for Cuphead to find it. Any ideas?

You need to put the dll in Cuphead's folder, where the .exe is. It should be Program Files>Steam>steamapps>common>Cuphead.

Done, but again, i can press any button on the controller to start, but then it doesn't let me go any further except with a keyboard or another logitech controller...
Oh well; it was just an experiment anyway :)
