it seems appropriate for kids. doesnt seem to have any profanity or anything too violent. judging from the trailers. just comic mischief. hope this helps!! :)

It's quite too creepy for children because he story is about repaying your debt to Satan. Soooooooo you take it how you want it lol

I saw the rating, but the ratings are set by a company that's not very reputable IMO, and don't really mean much these days. Reviews / word-of-mouth are a much better source for this knowledge.

I would not prefer devil as Satan. Anyways, excluding alcohol and tobacco, it's pretty harmless looking

I would say your best option is to play through it yourself first to see what the whole game is like. Also, have a think about what the worst game your nephew has played (in terms of gore, violence etc.) and compare it to Cuphead.

The game doesn't explore any heavy themes what so ever. The only two things there are in the game are: the bizarre looks of the characters, since they wanted to reproduce the 30s style, way before the Hayes Code (take a look at cartoons before it and after it.

The ones before were constantly joking about heavier themes and showing everytime creepier and creepier illustration), so you are going to see some very crazy bosses doing some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up ♥♥♥♥. But you know, all of that in a very cartoony way, so unless he is too sensitive to those kinds of things, which I doubt, he is going to be fine. There is also the Satan thing, but as you said, you're not very worried about it, so it's all fine.
