Prototypes disappeared

Last night I had tried to do a full sweep of the Dracogenics Military Compound and do all three missions there at once, but on trying to get into the last section, all my agents died and the prototype was left on the floor. It was late so I decided to save and load up my game today morning to try and take it on, but when I loaded the game, the prototypes that were on the floor were no longer where my agents dropped them when I died. I can no longer ping the doors where I first retreived them and there doesn't seem to be any clear way to progress through those other missions. Is there something I'm missing here, or is this a bug?

I have not tried going back to the doors for those missions because it was pretty ridiculously hard to get over there, but if someone can confirm that that would fix the bug, I will go ahead and do that. I probably shouldn't have saved while prototypes were on the ground, but I thought they would be saved...

Sorry, but this is a feature, not a bug. If you have a save before entering the compound you can try again, but otherwise you'll have to buy the missing prototypes from the Black Market. Objects on a map are never saved. Only your progress is saved.

Yeah, I just figured it out today, though I do not have to buy them from the Black Market, I seem to be able to just redo the mission and when I go back in the gate I reaquire it once the prototype I had previously acquired disappears from the ground.

Ah, maybe that's how it works once you've exited the game and restart it? Because other people seemed to have no luck trying to get prototypes that were forever lost to the void of save/reload.

Hm... I wonder what I did differently... I wish I could try and replicate what I did without risking my game progress haha
