It's this either turn based or "pure real time" attitude that leads to no good real time pause games and leaves us with crappy turn based tactical games. :(
Not complaining about SR though, team stims is close enough to a pause that there's little difference ... minor UI issues are more of an issue for me(cover indicators aren't always correct, sometimes hard to know what you're attacking with a bunch of enemies close by etc.)
But hey, does not mean that I can not accept other game styles either. And btw, start with Dragonfall, imo a littl better than Hong Kong, if you want to look into Shadowrun Returns games.
It's great you suggested alternate games to buy, not many other companies would even dare think about that. I'd also like to recommend Jagged Alliace: Back in Action, 7.62 High Calibre and Maruader for the peeps looking for real-time pausing, unit and weapon customisation.
p.s.
whats wrong with "stim distribution system" perks for same use ?
Gamers: Yay!
Whiners: But I want a tactical pause.
Devs: Like the one in Syndicate?
Whiners: Syndicate doesn't have a tactical pause.
Devs: Exactly. Go play Shadow Run HK.
I played Wargame and, at first, there's no way I could get in battle at normal speed. Fortunately, there's an option to slow time, and even pause. It might be a clutch, but I find it so necessary that it's my only current reservation about this otherwise magnificent title.
So they should add something that goes against the game just to please you? If games went by that logic we'd have no classics to be honest because all games would be a hybrid with every possible feature to please everyone, no uniqueness.
Also Jagged Alliance 2 with the 1.113 mod :P
Except everybody now saying that the game have nothing to do with syndicate ...
*same player, shoot again*
Actually it's nicer than to break the flow of a fast game every few seconds in a gunfight.
So yeah, great job devs.
Except pausing is entirely optional in PoE, just like it was in Baldur's Gate and all of the old Bioware classics. You can totally be hardcore and play it Real Time.
