No character customization?
This is very disappointing to be honest. Like I know I can take on the appearance of clones in terms of head and gender but this doesn’t cut it for me. I’m not very far into the game though could I ask –

Does customisation come into the game at any point? I would love to able to change clothing at build size etc (the soldier class having to be large build annoys).
If not, are there any plans to implement character customisation in the future?
Does Gear change the appearance at all?
At any point does the game leave the city map as in syndicate wars to allow for customisation etc like in he cryo lab?

This is a potential game breaker for me so thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

There is some customization. You can change head wear and I the colours on your team. And you can switch between those two agent types I think.

Gear or augmentations do not change appearances. Not sure what "cryo lab" you're thinking of in Syndicate Wars, but it sounds to me like you mean the Loadout screen in Satellite Reign, where you pick equipment and clones for your agents?

My way of countering the huge size soldier is to use a female clone. The current one has a black mask that cover the upper part of the face, plus four chrome pipes that stick out of the head. The soldier adds a black gasmask to the whole thing, leaving the face completely obscured. I do try to look for more clones to see what they'll look like for my agents.

Changing the clones and choosing default/none/original headwear is the limit at this point.

Was mentioned as possible.

No.

No. The city is all you get, but it's also denser than the ones in Syndicate. Imagine each continent from Syndicate downsized into a city district and you're on the right track.

Unfortunately answer above is what you have. 5Lives had a budget and timeline to work with that was very limited to their Kickstarter budget, but the hope is that future iterations of the game will include some more customization. It's a shame as the character art is pretty awesome though randomly generated.

This is a shame as the game had potential but that's game over for me until they add customisation. The player shouldn't be forced into appearances so seems strange to me that it's been done this way.

The whole game is built around agents using random bodies they find. What kind of customization are you looking for? The older Syndicate games used to have no customization, and the new X-COM game has no customization either. Usually customization is something you do in RPGs and maybe SIMS games. What RTS cyberpunk themed game has customization?

I think there is a good chance it will be added later. Just find it very strange for this to be a deal breaker for some. I usually do not even notice how the agents look.

I just find a little sad that later on in the game you just end up with everyone looking same-ish because the commanders all have the same looks, whereas the civilians are all quite diverse but functionally useless once you can hijack enemy soldiers.

True I guess. But then, I completed the game the first time without getting new clones at all, so zero stats for all. So I guess its just a choice whether you want custom looks or use the high grade military clones with better stats.

It has, and so does the sequel.

What can you change about your agents in that game?

Quite a bit actually.

I should also add though, whe I saw XCOM2's reveal trailer I felt Firaxis decided to directly ripoff themes from SR both in city setting, style and, ehrm, the "Ranger" class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2E_-2wIJIzQ

Wow... the first one got quite a bit of customization as well. I have played it less than 5 hours I think, just did not notice.

Actually X Com DOES have customization and so does Shadowrun which is pretty much the same as Satellite Reign. Do some research before making accusations. Thank you.
