What exactly is the gameplay like?
Judging from the trailers it looks a bit akin to Dawn of War 2's campaign, almost like a modern Baldur's Gate sort of thing? Is this close, or is it more comparable to something else? I've heard Syndicate, but haven't actually played it so that doesn't do much to help me.

Rather than looking at the trailers, maybe you should do a search on Youtube and look at one of the videos of people actually playing the game? Here's the first one I found. About ten minutes into the video the 'representative' gameplay starts, at the end of the tutorial. After that there's the natural mission to start with: The one where the fourth agent is retrieved. I didn't look too carefully at the tutorial itself, but it should show gameplay elements that could be of interest.

Yeah, looks like it plays akin to DoW2, just without the option to pause and issue commands I'm assuming. And hey now, a good set of trailers always has one focusing on showing off the gameplay on top of the normal cinematic-type one.

You can't pause in the gameplay screen, but you can slow down time with the Team Stims skill, and there's an optional mode where you start with it already maxed, which slows down time to 10% speed. Quite helpful if you want to give detailed orders to your agents rather than just playing them as a blob with four guns who are all shooting at the same target (which is usually the best tactic anyway).

Dawn of War is a good comparison, but sandbox, and much more leisurely. You have your team, and you have a city, and you do as you want. No pause, but it is not really necessary, although as the other poster said the team stim skill is really cool. In this it is very Shadowrunny in the sense that you have jobs (quests) around the city and you do them when you want, how you want. The combination of gear, augments, and skills of your crew, mixed with the great level design, makes for a really open ended way of completing tasks. You can blast your way in, or send in one agent with a proxy hacker and never be seen. You can hack other people and guards and use them to open doors, or to assasinate while your team is on the other side of the city. Unlike Dawn of War you are never forced into being assaulted non stop by endless foes, unless you choose to. Otherwise you can take out the cameras and never be noticed. It is similar to Baulders Gate in the sense that you can have your agents in different places, doing different things. Hacker is gathering hijacked people, while your scout and infiltrator are hitting the bank. It is a masterful game, really. All at your pace, lots of gear and augments, lots of customization. You can even hijack NPC's then return them to your lab for cloning. Part of the fun for me is hunting for better and better stats for my agents, hitting a guard station and checking stats until you see the one you want, then figuring out how to get him without getting caught. You can make your own capers. Anyways, this is basically a review now lol, but yea. Game play is like both of those, plays more like DoW, but more rpg-ish and leisurely like BG. Only cyberpunk. It is badass.
