Seriously? Region locked multiplayer?

Is there a way around this? I bought it for me and a friend not knowing multiplayer was region locked, I live in the U.S and he lives in the UK.

You're supposed to be able to circumvent the region block somehow... Maybe by trying to connect through your Steam friendship? Something like that. Oh, now I remember a method that people said worked: A VPN that you both connect to should give you the opportunity to play together. Apparently there are gaming services that offer that for free. Though I don't know if that requires hosting the game as a LAN game, which seems to be broken for a lot of people. (In my case though, it could've been because my computer isn't connected to a LAN. Not that I know of anyway. Maybe every computer should consider itself a LAN, of sorts?)

We figured it out, you can get by it by using Tunngle to get around it but for some reason when you launch a local game it crashes steam and the game. So you have to host the game in internet mode and then use the tunngle LAN IP to connect.

For future reference, the game is NOT region blocked. But the game DOES communicate by default with the Unity Relay Server in your region. Different regions mean you won't SEE each other.

But you can just input their IP to join them anyway. No need to mess about with tungle or any other LAN gaming VPN.

That is not true, I already tried direct IP. It wouldn't let him join. And yes, I had relaunched / rehosted multiple times as well as tried having him host.

Firewall off, input Friends IP join game... sits at connecting for a while then disconects.

You trying to use tunngle?

EDIT: You might have to port forward for tunngle.

Yea i can confim the Region Lock status, tried using evolve as a workaround, found each other but it ddint connect =/ the guy im trying to play with is in the Ukraine and im in the US #nogo

I can confirm it's region-locked and VPN doesn't seem to change anything.
Joining from Steam or IP doesn't either.

There is no reason for this locking. This should be fixed and people should not have to resort to using a third-party application or disable firewall settings.
