But you can just input their IP to join them anyway. No need to mess about with tungle or any other LAN gaming VPN.
EDIT: You might have to port forward for tunngle.
Joining from Steam or IP doesn't either.
There is no reason for this locking. This should be fixed and people should not have to resort to using a third-party application or disable firewall settings.
I haven't played in quite some time. I ended up using Tunngle to solve the issue, but I have no idea if they've fixed it.
