Undervolting GTX 980M

I got a Sager NP8652 with a GTX 980M.

I dont care for overclocking since the card is more than what I need already. However, I would like to undervolt it and reduce the heat strain on the card, and have it last longer.

How do I proceed to do that ? PrecisionX or NV Inspector do not let me drop the mV.

if you have money to drop on that thing, then buy a cooling system and be done with it.

Serious, i have a 650 ti and max voltage and pushing it to do 110fps .with a water cooling system and running 34-37c.

its a bit of price to bite. but in the end. its well worth it.

I'd also like to know how to underclock the 980m for the battery life.

It's so simply.just put the "GPU CLOCK OFFSET" button to the left,it will display - XX MHz on right way.

As long as you aren't running it at 90c plus all the time, it will last for a long time. Just clean out and repaste it every once in a while.

If you really really want to undervolt it then you'll have to look at some GPU BIOS flashing. I don't know of any current software methods to undervolt.
