- Denuvo anti-cheat, not DRM. Sucks if they support Denuvo but it's not DRM
- Honorball should have stayed as a T3 game mode. This is legit one of the worst moves they've made
- Creators and feedback are not banned. I've given lots of feedback, including telling Erez he was wrong
- Bots mimic players badly, that's what they do in every game. In T3 they replace empty player slots (up to 4) so that games launch quickly. They then get replaced by humans as players join. The overall experience is objectively better with them. The experience for new players is light-years better with them on as default in casual
- CEO is protecting the team from scope creep and over promising. This community is infamous for overreacting and wanting everything and being extremely salty if their personal vision isn't realized
- Early days of the game, they want maximum player retention in a focussed mode. I disagree that this is best and I think keeping Honorball as another mode would be better
- companys having multiple projects is normal
Edit: if this incredibly mild take offends you to the point of clowning please reconsider some things 🤡
I'm not necessarily critiquing the game or these features by themselves. I'm more just concerned with the PR aspect of it (as i want the game to have more players).
and no matter how well AI art or Denuvo is implemented its gonna make the game have a hit in controversy, just like banning the content creators (i didn't really intend all feedback just the controversy that already happened) just listing things that have happened so far.
--Erez, CEO of Prophecy Games
I agree, they seem to be making a lot of baffling decisions. Constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Deadzone was similar, but to a more extreme.
I hope Tribes 3 survives EA release, but sigh...
It's a mix from both sides. Prophecy has made several stupid decisions, and the community has overreacted to some decisions. These things combined make it seem worse than it is.
I'm pretty sure all of these reasons were why the last tribes died relatively quickly compared to other multiplayer games.
What a massive circus.
This game is DOA for sure.
I believe they are going with combination of EAC and Denuvo now
They aren't. The last Tribes died because of terrible monetization on top of unbalanced weapons and being unfriendly to new/all players.
Ironically, if you Google what killed Tribes Ascend the lists you get will include lack of anti-cheat, vehicles feeling forced, and poor new player experiences.
i think this game going die soon.
it seems dev team just wanna get small(and easy) money just now.
