Stuck - help please

Enjoying the game very much, but I am stuck on two items.

How do I get the cannon? I've done the area on that island up top with all the animals. No idea how to get to the cannon.

Also, the wiki says that one of the mysterious scrolls is on top of a pyramid on Tenerife Island. I don't see one on top of the first pyramid. Can you get on top of the bigger pyramid? And if so, how?

Naturally, I found the cannon after a half hour or so.
