Report a translation problem
We've seen some peoples' saves fail if they build too much (like some players building stairs infinitely into the sky), but that's the main case we've seen. If you run into it again, we'd love to collect some data. Are you in our Discord yet? We're often helping troubleshoot in there!
You can backup your saves in C:\Users\ <YourUserName> \AppData\Local\BoatGame\Saved\
I'm a dev and it's also possible some sort of internet or networking issues are happening. Currently, the game does not do a great job of telling you if it failed to create or join a game and instead get stuck in a loading screen TT. This is definitely on my radar to address before EA, appreciate the reports & feedback!

The other one already was in the firewall before: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Voyagers of Nera Demo\BoatGame.exe two rules for allowing TCP and UDP.
Did you play the game before the update?
Try this:
Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Demo Files
Updating the demo will remove any previous save file you had! Let me know if this works.
