No we won't be removing them. This is just information gathering to help set development priorities.
My arguement is, mouse building makes more sense in games WITHOUT an active build mode. Minecraft-like games don't require you to build onto dedicated objects, but rather, you move around the world and add blocks to mostly static objects, in real time.
Because this game has to lock you to the ship you are building on, the camera is removed from the player when you hit B. The player character does not need to be anywhere close to the blocks they are laying down (unlike in Minecraft). This lets you do a number of things that regular mouse building won't help you with - best example of which is building/editing planes in the sky while they are in motion.
I love the keyboard, been playing the game before mouse mode as well, and I gave it a shot when it was released, but it was much trickier for me, and I never gave it much more of a chance.
Also Katzen If you hit G then hold tap you can use: q,w,e,a,s,and d To control the rotation i find it easiest to lok the way you way the block to face then use g to lock its rotation flipping it over if nessicary
I agree. There should be an option too do either the camera way or a key based way of rotation.
Interesting.
Thanks for the info!
