Twin Rotor Helicopter
Just got the game and am deciding as my first construction project to build a Ka-50 Helicopter. So I have decided to start with the engine that way I can build around it. But since i am new I dont really know how to build a decent engine or even how to use rotors. Is there a guide on this or what tips can you guys give me?

That's a steep order for a first timer. There's one limitation in place right that that prevents spin blocks going on spin blocks, so you'll have to get creative with the twin rotor assembly.

For Helicopter blades, you're looking for them in the Air section. you're going to be in this section for all of the control surfaces for the helicopter. Carefully read every type of helicopter blade. The stabilzed ones are easier to use but can limit the speed of the helicopter, depending on how you build it.

For the rotors, you're looking to use a spin block and set to to Continuous, or continuous reverse, depending on the blades you picked. You'll need to construct a center shaft for the blades, and then place the blades accordingly.

You'll want the control surfaces if you picked an unstabilized blade, that'll allow you to control pitch and roll, especially useful for using the unstabilized blades.

The rest of this is a matter of design. If you're going for a 1 to 1 model, you might not like the idea of shoving a cannon on there. It may get a little cramped, since the custom cannons are designed more for naval guns than aircraft guns.

he could fit the gun easy there isnt much more to put in it

Also heres my go at counter rotating blades http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/44237575907985289/F10E2D643638D270D2A79BC3C3828996E714E8C1/
Using light blocks the one on the bottom can get above the other the bottom one is counter countwise and the top one is clock wise

a twin rotor setup can be done using a 2nd rotor inside the vehicle and then attaching "light blocks" in the blocks section, those are like phantom blocks, you can attach to them but they move threw other objects, run a link of those up the center of that rotor and threw the 1 on top then you can attach blocks to that above your current 1, and then you can set the internal rotor to spin in the opposite direction giving you the counter spin, the only draw back are light blocks use tons of crystals and are "extremely" vulnerable to explosions, although since they are phantoms normal shots arnt really effective
