How's multiplayer?
I'm really intrigued by this game, but I have one big question before I buy it: how's the multiplayer? Are there a decent number of players online? Is multiplayer stable? And I know there's bots in the singleplayer campaign, is it possible to have bots in multiplayer too?

many people post topic trying to get other people to play online so i dont believe it is used much. I Believe it is stable as far as not crashing. and it is possible to spawn bots in game

the multiplayer right now is iffy, i mean the game is stable, but for now you have to host or join your own, their are no public servers, and competative is difficult because their are 2 modes, creative building and AI battles, in AI battles you spawn your fleets of ships to go at eachother or enemies but you have 0 control over them, its entirely up to any AI you have put on them, and the creative is, well just that, you still have unlimited supplies, and still free to edit whenever and wherever, now dont get me wrong, i really do enjoy both, but new players like me sometimes find that while installing a AI is easy, optimizing its settings for your given designs can be difficult, and as for the creative side, that i do find really fun to a extent, but its hard to have several projects going on at once in the same world and not get distracted from your own. all together i say the multiplayer has promise, but in its current state it is mostly a single player, or small group thing until that gets improved, but assuming its still on sale i think its well worth it, even full price of only $20 like it was when i got it, its still worth. if you can find a group of friends who actually will share a interest in it as well though i imagine youll get a lot more out of the game.

The steam charts say the game has, on average 100-200 players online at a time. In addition to this, the game requires reasonably sound knowledge of physics and has a somewhat steep learning curve (mainly in terms of the control mechanisms).

Players need to build stuff in the designer before they can really do a lot of multiplayer stuff, which means more of the newer players will be focusing on testing/building designs rather than duelling.

100+ hours in, 0 hours of multiplayer for me XD

Waiting for the co-op campaign

co-op will be a big improvement yes, but its as for what Vb said the game isnt that complicated to pick up, in less then a day you will probably already have your first functioning boats and aircraft, but ever day you just learn how to make them better and better.
