CRAM Cannon help
Im trying to build a really big cram cannon. I found out that even though the cannon pieces ie compactors, packers, pellets, etc can be placed "in" the decking of your ship, it doesnt allow it to rotate. however, now that I have fixed the rotation and elevation (big barrel means slow elevation numbers right?) I continue to get the error on the stat window for the cannon piece that there is not enough ammo. I have watched numerous videos on people making these cram cannons so easily and they are able to make them rotate and fire with like 50 blocks and like 10 of them are pellets. I dont understand how no matter how many pellet blocks I connect to packers and connect to connectors onto the main gun, it will still say not enough ammo. sometimes depending on my experimentation, it will say not enough ammo in red, but most of the time it says it in yellow. I dont understand what the difference between those are and desperately need help. all the videos I look up are from at least 2 years ago and it seems a lot of the mechanics have changed since then.

Your cram cannon uses more than the base 50 ammo. Place dedicated ammunition storage boxes (and armor them up, because they're volatile).

Yes old videos unfortunately are sometimes far from how the game is now.
CRAM barrels don't move much or don't move quickly. "Motor driven" barrels increase traverse limits and speed, "elevation" barrels increase elevation limit and speed.
CRAM pellets use more ammo to load the weapon quicker, and control what effect they have (piercing, explosive, incendiary, etc)

Your ship is probably lacking ammo resource blocks, which are separate from the CRAM system.
Ammo resource boxes provide some material and increase the rate that ammo can be provided to the weapons (indicated by the bullets bar on the bottom right while the vehicle is selected/boarded by the avatar). These can be placed anywhere on the ship, but they explode when destroyed.

This isn't from your cannon specifically either, its in the materials category.
Basic material storage boxes provide a minimum base 50 fuel and ammo.
You have to place fuel and ammo chests when you need more of that type of resource.
When you hover over one of the specialized chests, it'll tell you how much you use & make.
If everything is ok, there won't be any warnings. Yellow/White warnings are when you are using more than you can produce, and red is when you actually have no ammo left and weapons cannot reload (or engines are dry).

Ammo is it's own separate resources. You need to place enough ammo boxes, ammo barrels or whatever. They're under the "resources" tab in the build menu. When you hover over an ammo box, the game will tell you how much ammo your vehicle has access to and how much it needs. Make sure its needs are met.

thank you all. it was the material, ammo, and fuel storage that i needed.
