Is it hitting but not doing damage? (no chunks of missile missing or missile not being destroyed)
Is it even firing at missiles?
Are you using Continuous or Pulsed lasers?
Low altitude missils are easy, just make sure you have missile warners and anti-missile lasers aimed in all directions (each only sees/fires in maybe a 180 degree arc), with a clear line of sight to the water.
Torpedoes are a problem, since lasers quickly loose effectiveness the farther they travel through water.
The weapons don't seem to engage water skimmers (very low altitude missiles) and this correlates to the decryption notes on the part that says they won't fire on missiles under 1.5m~ in altitude. But then it wouldn’t be the first time the in-game info was inaccurate.
I've heard that continuous is actually better for LAMS. I myself have a continuous beam with <100 damage value and 10 AP, and it seems to work fine. Also, accuracy is extremely important; if the part that fires the laser itself is far away from the missile's point of impact (like a port-side LAMS shooting a missile at the bow), that could contribute to the problem I believe.
