My boat won't move
I have place propellers, it's a small ship in the beginning. I'm building in the right direction, so it's not facing backwards. I even placed large propellers but the max speed I get is .50?

Anyone know what might be going on?

you need to add AI mainframe and naval AI card.
Subhero Aug 21, 2015 @ 12:19pm
Does the starter boat also need an AI? I'm controlling the boat myself...

No you dont need an AI, if u cant get the boat to go any faster yourself then the AI wont make it go faster. Unless your just not hitting the acceleration button more than once.

For instance, if you are using the Big wheel vehicle controller, then you have to keep hitting U to throttle it up all the way. Then J will throttle down, and T and G will cancel all throttle. (the other controller has different bindings)

Also possible your engine doesnt have enough power, but I wouldn't know unless I saw it.

Do the propellers even move once you change the throttle?

I found out that the crank shafts were not placed correctly so no power was going to the propellers, though they were moving. Confusing.

Yeah they are suppose to be turning if the throttle is engaged. If you got a wheel placed the right direction, a rudder and correct facing propellers, then only thing I would think was you didn't have a working engine.
would need to see it.

Oh snap hahaha..yeah that really sucks, that used to happen to me. but every time I build an engine block and crank shafts, or anything at that matter, I look at the direction I want the engine to be placed, and then I hit the G key to ensure its facing the right way.
Its a faster way other than using tab to turn your blocks. But yeah, orientation mess ups have happened to me a lot and hitiing G is pretty much second nature now, even though I still sometimes forget and completely screw everything up! :pleased:

its odd how when you place turret then go to build. on many occasion it seems to pick a random faceing for you. i placed ssame turret one time 3 times in exact same spot and faceing "didnt use G" and each time faced different dirrection when went to build. "camera was faceing i mean"

If you save the constructable and take it to the vehicle designer when you go to load the construct at the top right is a flip 90 degrees button. Press that twice and save the new flipped construct.

It is now facing the right way. To get it into campaign either retrofit or build from scratch

rotate only changes direction of boat not the turret though?

When you place the turret have the arrow pointing the shooting direction. Then Repeat with firing piece.

i know that :-) what im saying is his answer to fix it by useing rotate in load menu. only changes ship. not indivual turrets. so if turret built wrong rotate wont fix it.
