FTD-why go into space?
so first i want to say i love FTD i redownloaded it after a few months of not haveing enouth room and i love it now it feels like a RTS where YOU build everything! i love RTS's also isnt there a block that loads a ship blueprint and spawns it when you have all that is needed to build it? if so that will make the game even more RTS feel for me!

errrr anyways...

Why go into space?

why would i go into space in FTD? are there other planets? moons? asteroids? does anythng in

space give me more resorces?

i think it would be cool to have this for online mode in FTD...

One huge server, endlessly generating planets, players randomly spawn on them and fight or ally for control of the planet then go into space for even more fun!

You can use the blueprint spawner to spawn in vehicles, or moreover, just hit "Load Constructable" while in the campaign to load in the blueprint, which can then be repaired from scratch.

As for space, I don't know of much reason to go there. It's cool and all, but I've never once had any real reason to go to space in my hours of gameplay. Travelling to orbit on Neter and arriving to another planet, like the ones users can create and load on the workshop, would be quite nice. If implemented in the campaign, it would give a reason to have space defenses for orbital invaders (though we would need dedicated space AI by that point).

to make untouchable satelites with guns on them

Also, space is great for spy satellites.

ya but i would what that as a online mode oh also when you spawn on a planet you get a "Planet Code" so you can give that code to friends they enter the code and spawn on the same planet

others might not be as lucky and spawn on a allready counqured planet so they pick fight and fail cause this player has more untis and more powerful units then mine or join there forces and help them counquer!

now THAT would be fun for this game!

play cycle idea

start

spawn on random planet (say all land if they add in wheels)

build a base a few tanks

find a planer base (5 players per planet should be good enouth!)

Ally them or wage war on them

Ally the AI does not attact allinace units but the allinace last for 4 years (about 4 weeks) or untill the Leader attacks (your player)

counqure the planet

build a Space shuttle

blast into space to build star shipyard

build Starships

work to other planets to try and counqure them and take there resoruces or blow up the planet (IF your ship is powerful enouth you would need a death star-like ship to do this and would need a LOT of stuff to work)

so ya thats my idea of a full online play verson of this game with land that is but same can happen with sea

Why go to space?
To watch DWG Orcas aim up, go nose up, and proceed to fly backwards away from you at high speed due to its impressive lift capabilities being made to point the wrong way.

Or fully armed and operational battle stations (of small size) with missiles, Coffin Nail dwarfing guns, more missiles, metal beam shreding lasers that can erase small ships quickly, and really freaking big missiles that can cause Sea Vipers (or other smaller ships) to disappear.
Oh, and enough Large Ion Thrusters to chase down backward flying Orcas.

And weather satellites that in no way, shape, or form mount large missiles for eradicating machines possessed by murderous non-terrestrial intelligences.
