Anyway... There are a few good videos on youtube. I would suggest watching some of the videos done by EnterElysium.You will also will also want to know how to make good engines.

Early on, keep it simple, learn the mechanics one at a time. For example, build a boat first, tweak it until it's effective - and eventually you'll know how to make killer ships. Then move on to planes, subs, satellites, fortresses, ect.
I also think there is a slight lack of documentation since it's alpha. That means you really have to play around and figure some things out for yourself. For example, does a fuel block or a supercharger give your engine more power in that one empty space.
