Vehicle Designer help
So I built my boat but I wanted to test it to see if it works without it going through war first. I saw in the inventory that you can get a enemy sim but I have no idea on how it works.

Press X. It will pop up a list of all the enemy ships you will encounter in game.

If you are brand new, try something without an AI first to shoot at, they are all clearly marked.

After that, start trying to kill low level things with AI, preferentially from the Deep Water Guard. The baby paddlegun, or marauder are good places to start (although the marauder is kinda just intended to be used as a target at this point).

Work your way up from there, and be aware, very rarely will you actually find a ship that can kill everything.

You can also put an enemy sim on your own ship you spawn in, and then activate it so you can fight your own designs

I've only had enemy sims allow me to attack, they never fought back

Did you have the AI turned off before installing the sim? If so that's why. Also, for the sim to take full controll, you need to be off of the ship and some distance away.

Regardless you can also Load Designs from the menu under the control of other factions (top right corner), for instance OW designs controlled by DWG with their colors in place of OW.

I didn't have the ai off but maybe it was because I was too close. Though with the statement made before by admiral obvious is was able to see if my ships work and they don't, but thats is not an issue when you can capture the enemy ship and modify it even better than they are.
