Need help with Spin Blocks
Been trying to make a door that opens to launch missiles but it seems to be behaving erratically, flapping around in the wind, not closing fully etc.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Should I of used a precision spin block or torqueless?

Shouldn't matter what type, but what are you using for your ACB affect funciton? And do you have more than 2 ACBs present on the design?

You will need to use the Precision spin blocks so it works properly, and one of them needs to be set into reverse so it doesnt go into the missiles.
After that, place 2 ACB's somewhat close to those spin blocks, and the command needs to be: "Activated wehn enemy range is > [input] or no enemies". This command will close the blast doors if there are no enemies within a range of say, 3000-5000m, and the blast doors wont open. The other ACB, needs the command of: "activate if enemy range < [input]". This will open the blast doors when the enemy is within the range of say, 3000-5000m for example's sake. Now, if you have other spin blocks, you will need to set a limit on the affect range of the ACB, otherwise your radar dish, if you have one, will turn to 90 and 0 degrees lol.
Oh, make sure you put your missiles on a firing delay as..... well.... the blast doors and anything around your missile bay will be destoryed....
Thats always a lovely sight lol

Again, doesn't matter when you're using ACBs and given how spin blocks interact with other blocks, though precision certainly does look better.

I'm using 2 ACB's, one to open if enemy under 1000, one to close if enemy over 1000, these are on each door so 4 in total. They are set to set rotation to 0 or 90 degrees on open/close. They work how they should other than one of the 2 doors (seems random which) doesn't close fully and they both seem very effected by movement of vessel swinging erratically on occasion.

Only really need the 2 ACBs for both, just have to set one of the spin blocks to reverse, and from what I've seen that is a common occurrence with vehicles going over 20m/s, I think using precision spin blocks as has been suggested will get rid of the irregular movement, which may also fix the closing issue.

What's the point of blast doors anyways?
I mean, if the doors open while in combat and close outside combat, then they don't have any effect

Thanks for the help guys. These are not your average blast doors, basically the whole back end opens up like a transformer, doubling the size of the plane, kinda looks like a bird spreading its wings to reveal 250 missiles that will rain down as it flies by.
More looks than functionality ;)

I'm having a slight problem with my missile system, I have it on a boat so when the enemy gets below 1500 meters the doors open, and they do, but the missiles refuse to fire, except for 2 which most of the time don't get on course, it's really annoying me, could I get some help plz?

This isn't an issue with spin blocks so I don't know why you're asking for help in a thread long past it's relevence.

You would be better off starting your own post to ask for help.
This post is very old lol.
Basically you want an ACB on your doors to open if enemy under 2000 and and ACB on missiles to fire if under 1500, that would be the easiest way giving time for doors to open.
Failsafes can also confuse missiles into thinking there's blocks in the way even if doors open.
