Sandbox mode...?
Hi, am I just an idiot or is the store page a bit misleading? I decided to give this game a shot after reading the following on the store page: "A creative mode allowing you to push your designs to the limit and ensure the total annihilation of your opponents. " Now, I assumed this meant I could play a sandbox-like mode identical to the campaign except with unlimited resources, kinda like Minecraft's creative mode. This was not the case at all.

So my question is, is there some kind of sandbox mode? I'm not a huge fan of resource gathering, I'd much rather just be able to create a giant fleet without limits. Thanks.

You can use the designer to build vechiles and test them, that's the sandbox part of the game

Right, so there is no campaign mode with unlimited resources? Not even some kind of cheat? I can't be arsed with Cheat Engine.

There is only vehicle designer or campaign at the moment. There are no "cheats" for the game.

Shame. Oh well, I'll live. While I'm at it I might aswell ask another question. When I'm standing on my ship in first person view as it is moving, the little robot character thingy is impossible to control, as the robot doesn't move with the ship, if that makes sense.

How fast is the ship? is it wiggling? is it tilting? I find an air pump helps somehow.

I never have this problem.

No, the ship is stable. I did some testing, it's not only my ship, it happens with the ones included in the game as well. Why does every game I play hate me?

Because you need to "git gud"

There is some sort of "foot lock" or something that says it makes you move with ships. The character/ship interaction is very crappy at the moment.

Also there are frames of reference for avatars. Within a certain distance of a ship you should be moving relative to it. Far enough away and you start moving relative to the map. When you jump off a fast ship, that is why you stay with it for a bit then get left behind.

Thanks for all the help, but I've decided to request a refund instead. A voxel based vehicle creator game should not be more complicated than programming a NASA space probe. At least not in my opinion.

It takes time to learn like any good game. If your not willing to put the effort in then it is up to you. Just because it takes more effort than say Minecraft shouldn`t discourage you. Once you get rolling it gets better.

only idea for a sandboxmode like you asking for... i think you might be able to make and turn main camopaign into a custom campaign and change resource settings.

i havent worked with editor... but there is a bunch on main forum "fromthedepthsgame.com" that have or are making custom campaigns. and they be ones to answer your question best.

it is possible to make a sandbox mode using the campaign editor

I think the fun of campaign mode is having limited resources though and having to expand. Rather than having unlimited resources and just build massive ships from the get go.

Each to their own.
