submarine tutorials/ designs
are there any tuturials other than the one the game suggests that I could work along, i've only acheived success on two midget sized subs, i'm in need of one that could be up to 200 k to 1 million metal as far as it goes, and I can't seem to get the schematics for it right ever.
i will be working to make my very next design to look like a U boat... or a nuclear submarine, I know for certain that said plans would be best to work, rather than building those unrealistic designs, could I get any feeedback for ideas

I haven't dabbled much in submarine development, although I can point you towards EnterElysium's missile submarine which looks like a U-boat, and is up for download on the workshop, studying that might help you out
thank you. I went as far as to doing research on real life submarines and u boats. i'll check it out

You can load up some Steel Striders stuff. They have 5 or so large subs.

I'm having issues over control on subs. Jet stabs don't want to level it out in the pitch axis. Wondering if I can set up ballast tanks front and rear to change pitch. But I think all plcs treat themself as the ship's listed altitude.

Got it figured out. There is a pitch thingy in the ACB menu and pumps can be controlled locally. I'm going to put ACB on front and back ballast tanks to keep sub level. I'm using the Typhoon to help me start out. Took off the hydrofoils right away because AI can't handle moving backwards.

I just published my first sub to the workshop a uboat design, took a lot of work but I found that the air pumps make a big difference and help out a lot just like Blaank mentioned use those acbs to control your pumps and you should be squared away
ACB's huh.. alright, the thing is. is the first large submarine I built would rocket back up even with all of the air pumped out of it, its just weird i guess.. i don't know

Do you guys have any idea of bouyancy is local or ship wide? Cause having seperate ballasts doesn't seem to affect the ship's balance at all.
I built a really long submarine
it has 3 rooms , one engine, one for the back, one for front, missile bays up top, 6 torpedos in front, and its bouyant, i don't use a rudder ( it doesnt have force applied, auto control blocks keept it under without sinking
and it uses alot of hydrofoils built within it along with the jet stabilizers i put in front and back
300 k metal, and its not bad. terrible at steering ( takes a while given length) but its not bad.
i'll post it in this thread later.
