Advanced cannon shooting problem
Hi, I'm having problems with advanced cannons. I built one which receives and loads ammo normally and even gets ready to fire, but when I fire, the first bullet drops from it (falling on my deck) and then, when I shoot again, it shows the bullet sideways, but it seems to disappear. Also, the fall of shot predictor line is pointing down. Does anyone faced this problem as well? May be a bug?

Did you make sure every thing is faceing the right way? Such as the clip.

Yes. The Shells inside the clip are facing forwards (and it is connected to the auto loader), and I rebuilt everything from sctratch ensuring it was all oriented correctly.

Do your shells have any gunpowder casings?

Now, that makes sense! Thank you, didin't even realised I replaced all of it.

and now I know what to tell people that are experiancing this "bug"

Indeed. The problem for me was that the shell builder tells you when you have a problem with the build, but this problem itself was not pointed at all.

Lol. Yeah I've seen someone complaining about this a few weeks back so I figured it was the same thing.

The shell editor will tell you when shell parts are not placed in the correct spot. It won't warn you about that mistake

no powder is a valid design. you can make a very powerful railgun and need no powder to shoot.

Should we report this as a bug or something? I think it's a shell design flaw that needs to be pointed to the player the same way as placing the top piece at the bottom...

It's not a bug. You can post it as suggestion though, to help new players

no, as I just said, no powder is a valid design. I know of several options to use this, the shell designer has no way of knowing what the rail draw on the gun you made is.

True but at least a small notice or shell tutorial should be implemented to guide players and avoid these issues

I see. Can you tell me a valid use for a shell without powder? I think it should at least give you a hint, at least to help the newcomers.

As sanosukesoceio already said. It's useful for rail guns. If there are other options I do not know them

I actually made a high altitude "bombing" platform. it uses a 500mm cannon and a ton of belt fed autoloaders, no powder=no cooldown. just use the smallest and most basic of rail setups to give it inital velocity. it'll shoot as many rounds/volly as Ihave autoloaders, and can one volly most ships.
