dropship concept
is it possible to make a dropship with npc's?
like you open a blast door under it and the npc's fall down and kill every enemy npc on the ground?

the NPCs are not that developed yet. I suppose that might be possible later in development.

They will kill other nps, you can spawn in a bunch of nps to drive a boat and operate cannons.

Spawn in another npc driven boat, and they will use cannons until both boats get too close to eachother, at that point they will start shooting eachother with their guns.

i hope one day we can have battles involving this, just imagine a D-Day style event, ♥♥♥♥ that would be crazy fun.

However NPCs are stuck to the craft they are built on, so no dropping them off, so at best you can do is crash into another vehicle, then have the NPCs shoot at eachother from their own ships.

I've been experimenting with this, you can make parachutes with npcs attached to them and then make them subvehicles with docking stations. That way you can just drop them in and recall them when there are no enemies with automated command blocks.

i wish they could move around on their own.

They can, I've seen them actually move around off their own plate to either kill me or get to an enemy npc that is shielded by armor. However, this is extremely rare.

there needs to be a dedicated Ai though, something along the lines of, at least minecraft mobs.

Yeah I was thinking that each NPC shared an AI of all the other NPCS that are also on the same ship- so a carrier of 100 NPCs would have a single AI setting for all 100 of it's own NPCs, and another carrier would have its own separate setting. This way if you had a lot of units you would avoid having to set each individual NPC's Ai to Combat or On.

Then the settings would be "Combat" for attacking and moving up to enemy units and "On" for manning the vehicle/defending their stations.

I like the idea of a ship owning its own AI for its NPCS, but there needs to be a bit of specialization for the NPCS, i dont want the captain or the gunners boarding another enemy ship. But i do like your idea.

Thanks, maybe there could be an infantry/crew setting or something so that infantry can have their AI changed in settings whereas crew Ai cannot be changed. That way you can have dedicated crew members and dedicated infantry.

that sounds absolutly amazing. i cant wait until i can perform D-Day on the deep water guard.
The only problem i can see with infantry and NPCS in general is the potential lag, my computer can barely handle 20k blocks, im just wondering how well my CPU can handle it.
