And “power”, that’s engine, right?
-battery+electric engine
-steam
-fuel
-jet+jet generator
Great!
And that means you can convert engine power to electric by using a crank motor and wheel, so that instead of decreaseing an engines production for electricity, you can consume engine power for electricity, and therefore set electricity generation to a different priority (have stronger engines, and when possible generate electricity. But propulsion comes first!)
Also, as crank motors can't have their priority changed, they make a rather poor overflow power converter.
The benifit is that you can create 100% engine power, and make it electric. For instance, steam power is less efficient with generators. This allows you to put that generater elsewhere!
It's called "solveing a problem that is bareley there by causing multiple others".
Besides redundency (if your steam engine is destroyed, these can still produce power in other places), there is no point truly.
But, you know, hypothetically you can do it!
