Steam propeller won’t go in reverse

So i’ve made a new steam engine and rigged it up to a steam propeller.
It works fine when going forward but refuses to go in reverse, but when using a complex controller, it can go in reverse. But it’s either on/off using this method.

it’s a weird situation, anyone got a fix for it?

Did you attach the propeller directly to the engine?
You have to put a transmission between them so it can actally change the gear ratio

Press Q on it and turn OFF automatic propulsion, make sure its set to pusher

9/10 times with problems like these the player didn't press Q on the thing (always press Q on the thing!) and read the text that the UI shows them.

If you don't have a transmission you can't change anything, if you do then by default steam props are set to not react to commands telling your craft to reverse. So you just tell it to react to that command...
